All about the monument : Jama Masjid is one of the most famous mosques in India and an important historical landmark in Delhi. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656, the mosque is constructed using red sandstone and white marble. It has massive courtyards, beautiful domes, tall minarets, and impressive Mughal architecture. The mosque can accommodate more than 25,000 worshippers at a time and attracts tourists and devotees from around the world.
